The purposes are the reasons for which the user’s consent is sought.

This consent is obtained through an opt-in.

It is one of the aspects that must be informed in order to get consent, together with the duration of the storage and processing of the data, the details of the company that will process the data and the privacy policy

In a CMP, the purposes consist of a brief description, a legal description and a list of the companies involved. In this way, the user is informed of which companies are asking for permission for this purpose.

A publisher may choose the purposes, features and vendors to display in the CMP, but may not change the name and description of purposes or features as they are defined by IAB Europe TCF Framework.

The purposes are focused on advertising management , publisher content management, market research and product improvement.
